Buick Enclave: Headlamp Aiming
Headlamp aim has been preset at the factory and should normally require no additional adjustment during regular vehicle use. Correct headlamp aim is important because it helps provide proper road illumination without creating unnecessary glare for oncoming drivers.
On the Buick Enclave, the headlamp system is designed to deliver a controlled beam pattern for nighttime driving, poor weather, and low-visibility conditions. When the lamps are aimed correctly, the driver can see the road ahead more clearly while other road users are not distracted or blinded by excessive upward light.
However, if your vehicle has been damaged in a crash, even a minor front-end impact can affect the headlamp aim. The headlamp housing, mounting points, front fascia, hood alignment, or surrounding structure may shift enough to change the beam position. Aim adjustment to the low-beam headlamps may be necessary if oncoming drivers flash their high-beam headlamps at you, especially when the concern is related to vertical aim.
Other signs of incorrect headlamp aim may include poor road visibility at night, a beam pattern that appears too low, light that shines too high into traffic, or uneven illumination between the left and right sides. If the headlamps need to be re-aimed, it is recommended that you take the vehicle to your dealer for service. Proper equipment is needed to aim the lamps accurately and safely.
