AM-FM Radio

Radio Data System (RDS)

The Radio Data System (RDS) feature works only with FM stations that broadcast RDS information. The radio depends on data sent by the station, so station names, call letters, or related text appear only when that information is available and received correctly. When the Buick Enclave is tuned to an FM-RDS station, the display may show the station name or call letters instead of only the frequency.

In rare cases, a radio station may broadcast incorrect or incomplete RDS information. If this happens, some radio display features may not work as expected, even though the radio itself is operating normally. If the issue occurs only with one station, contact that station for more information.

Finding a Station

BAND: Press to switch between AM, FM, or XM. The selected band appears on the display.

Buick Enclave tune control for selecting radio stations (Tune): Turn this control to manually select radio stations.

Seek button for previous or next radio station : Press to move to the previous or next station and remain on that station.

To scan stations, press and hold © or ¨ until a beep sounds.

During scanning, the radio tunes to a station, plays it for a few seconds, and then continues to the next available station. Press either arrow again to stop scanning on the station currently playing.

The radio seeks and scans only stations with a strong enough signal in the selected band. Weak stations may be skipped during seek or scan operation.

Storing a Radio Station as a Favorite

Drivers are encouraged to set up radio station favorites while the vehicle is in P (Park). This helps reduce distraction while driving. After favorites are stored, stations can be selected using the preset softkeys, the FAV button, or the steering wheel controls. See Steering Wheel Controls .

FAV (Favorites): Up to 36 stations can be programmed as favorites by using the six softkeys below the radio station frequency tabs and the radio favorites page button, also called the FAV button. Press FAV to move through up to six favorite pages, with six favorite stations available on each page. Each favorites page may contain any combination of AM, FM, or XM stations.

The balance, fade, and tone settings that were adjusted before storing the station are saved with the favorite. This allows the Buick Enclave audio system to recall both the station and the sound setup associated with it.

To store a station as a favorite:

1. Tune to the desired radio station.
2. Press FAV to display the page where the station will be stored.
3. Press and hold one of the six softkeys until a beep sounds.

When that softkey is pressed and released later, the stored station returns.

4. Repeat the steps for each radio station to be stored as a favorite.

To set up the number of favorites pages:

1. Press MENU to display the radio setup menu.
2. Press the softkey below the FAV 1-6 tab.
3. Select the desired number of favorites pages by pressing the softkey below the displayed page numbers.
4. Press FAV, or allow the menu to time out, to return to the main radio screen showing the radio station frequency tabs and begin programming favorites for the selected number of pages.

Satellite Radio

XM™ Satellite Radio Service

XM™ Satellite Radio Service provides satellite-based audio programming in the 48 contiguous United States and 10 Canadian provinces. The service offers a wide range of channels, including music, talk, entertainment, and other programming. Many music channels are commercial-free, and audio is delivered in digital-quality sound when the subscription is active and the signal is available.

A service fee is required to receive XM programming. If the XM service needs to be reactivated, the radio may display “No Subscription Please Renew” on channel XM1. For more information in the U.S., contact XM at www.xmradio.com or 1-800-929-2100.

For service information in Canada, visit www.xmradio.ca or call 1-877-438-9677.

Finding a Station

BAND: Press to switch between AM, FM, or XM. The selected band appears on the display.

Satellite radio tune control for selecting XM stations (Tune): Turn this control to manually select radio stations.

Buick Enclave seek button for previous or next XM station : Press to move to the previous or next station and remain there.

To scan stations, press and hold © or ¨ until a beep sounds.

The radio tunes to a station, plays it briefly for a few seconds, and then continues to the next station. Press either arrow again to stop scanning.

The radio seeks and scans only stations with a strong signal in the selected band. This helps the system avoid stopping on stations that cannot be received clearly.

Finding a Category (CAT) Station

CAT (Category): The CAT button is used to find XM stations by category when the radio is in XM mode. Categories group channels by content type, making it easier to locate a preferred style of programming without moving through every XM station one at a time.

To find XM channels within a desired category:

1. Press BAND until the XM frequency displays.
2. Press CAT to display the category tabs.
3. Continue pressing CAT until the desired category name displays.

► Radios with CD and DVD can also move through the category list by pressing sREV or \FWD.

4. Press either of the two buttons below the desired category tab to immediately tune to the first XM station associated with that category.
5. To go to the next or previous XM station within the selected category, do one of the following:

► Turn Category navigation control with left and right display arrows . Press the buttons below the right or left arrows on the display.

► Press either SEEK arrow.

6. To exit category search mode, press the FAV button or BAND button to display the favorites again.

Undesired XM categories can be removed through the setup menu. Removing a category does not cancel XM service or erase stored favorite stations; it only hides that category from category browsing.

To remove an undesired category, perform the following:

1. Press MENU to display the radio setup menu.
2. Press the softkey below the XM CAT tab.
3. Turn Control knob for selecting an XM category to remove to display the category to be removed.
4. Press the softkey under the Remove tab until the category name appears with the word Removed.
5. Repeat the steps to remove more categories.

Removed categories can be restored by pressing the softkey under the Add tab when a removed category is displayed. All removed categories can also be restored by pressing the softkey under the Restore All tab.

Categories cannot be removed or added while the vehicle is moving faster than 8 km/h (5 mph). This restriction helps keep setup changes limited to safer driving conditions.
