Notice: Folding a rear seat while the safety belts are still buckled may damage the seat or the safety belts. Always unbuckle the safety belts and return them to their normal stowed position before folding a rear seat.

1. Remove objects from the floor behind the second row seat and from the seat tracks on the floor.
2. Pull the seatback rearward until it locks into place.
3. Slide the seat rearward by pushing on the seatback until the seat locks securely.
4. Return the head restraint to the upright position by reaching behind the seat and pulling the head restraint forward until it locks.

5. Push down on the rear of the seat cushion until it locks securely.
6. Push and pull on the seatback and seat cushion to confirm that both are locked in place.

Push and pull on the seatback to make sure it is locked. Pull up on the head restraint to return it to the upright, locked position.

For comfortable Buick Enclave passenger use, always check that the second row seat is fully locked after sliding, folding, or reclining it. A properly secured seat helps maintain correct belt fit and safer seating for rear passengers.

Adjusting the Seats

Third Row Seats

Buick Enclave warning about using the third row while the second row seat is folded or pushed forwardWARNING
Using the third row seating position while the second row seat is folded, or while it is pushed forward in the entry position, can increase the risk of injury in a sudden stop or collision.

Always return the second row seat to the normal passenger seating position before anyone rides in the third row. Push and pull on the seat to make sure it is fully locked into place.

Folding the Seatback

Notice: Folding a rear seat while the safety belts are still fastened can damage the seat or the safety belts. Always unbuckle the safety belts and place them back in their normal stowed position before folding a rear seat.

To fold the third row seatback:

1. Remove any items from on the seat and from the floor area underneath it.

Buick Enclave warning about making sure the third row seatback is locked after raising itWARNING

Always push and pull on the seatbacks to confirm that they are locked securely.

2. Push and pull on the seatback to make sure it is locked in place.

Buick Enclave warning about improperly routed or twisted third row safety beltWARNING
A safety belt that is routed incorrectly, attached improperly, or twisted will not provide the protection needed in a crash.

The person wearing that belt could be seriously injured. After the rear seatback is raised, always check that the safety belts are properly routed, properly attached, and not twisted.

3. Reconnect the center safety belt mini-latch to the mini-buckle.

Do not allow the belt to twist.

4. Pull on the safety belt to confirm that the mini-latch is secure.

Removing the Third Row Seats

To remove a third row seat:

1. Remove the cargo management system, if it is equipped and installed.

See Cargo Management System.

2. Remove any objects from on or under the seat.

Notice: Folding a rear seat while the safety belts are still fastened can damage the seat or the safety belts. Always unbuckle the safety belts and return them to their normal stowed position before folding a rear seat.

3. Fold the seatback down.

See “Folding the Seatback” earlier in this section.

4. Remove the rear bolts from the floor on each side of the seat.
5. Remove the seat by tilting it slightly upward and then pulling it out through the rear of the vehicle in one continuous motion.
6. Reinstall the bolts in the floor holes for storage.

Installing the Third Row Seats

To reinstall a third row seat:

1. Before installing the seat, the seatback must be folded forward. See “Folding the Seatback” earlier in this section.

The seats must be placed in the correct locations to attach properly. The wider seat must be installed on the driver side, and the narrower seat must be installed on the passenger side. Remove the bolts from the floor holes before installing the seats.

2. Position the seat on the vehicle floor so that the front seat hooks engage the vehicle bars.
3. Reinstall the bolts, and torque to 55Y(41 lb ft). Pull up on the seat to make sure it is locked in place.
4. Raise the seatback to the upright position. Push and pull on the seatback to make sure it is locked into place.
5. Reconnect the center safety belt mini-latch to the mini-buckle.

Do not let the belt twist.

In the Buick Enclave, the third row is most useful when every latch, belt, and seatback is checked carefully after folding, removing, or reinstalling the seat. Taking a few extra seconds to verify everything is locked properly helps keep passengers safer and makes everyday Buick Enclave use more secure.
