Buick Enclave: Brake System Warning Light. Antilock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light. Tow/Haul Mode Light
Brake System Warning Light
The Buick Enclave brake system uses two separate hydraulic circuits to help provide braking capability.
If one hydraulic circuit is not operating correctly, the remaining circuit can still help stop the vehicle. However, normal braking performance depends on both circuits working properly.
If the brake system warning light comes on, a brake system problem may be present. Have the brake system inspected immediately, because braking performance may be reduced.

This light should come on briefly when the ignition key is turned to ON/RUN. If it does not illuminate during this check, have it repaired so it will be ready to warn the driver if a brake system problem occurs.
This light may also come on if the brake fluid level is low. See Brakes for more information.
When the ignition is on, the brake system warning light will also come on when the parking brake is set.
The light will remain on if the parking brake does not release completely. If the light stays on after the parking brake is fully released, there may be a problem with the brake system.
If the light comes on while driving, pull off the road and stop carefully as soon as it is safe to do so.
Make sure the parking brake is fully released. The brake pedal may feel harder to press, or the pedal may travel closer to the floor than usual.
The vehicle may take longer to stop. If the light remains on, have the vehicle towed for service. See Towing the Vehicle.
WARNING
The brake system may not be working properly if the brake system warning light is on.
Driving with the brake system warning light on can lead to a crash. If the light remains on after the vehicle has been pulled off the road and carefully stopped, have the vehicle towed for service.
The brake message remains displayed until any DIC button is pressed.
The brake warning light remains on until the problem is corrected. See Brake System Messages for more information.
Antilock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light

The ABS warning light comes on briefly when the ignition key is turned to ON/RUN. This is a normal system check.
If the light does not come on during this check, have it repaired so it can warn the driver if an ABS problem occurs.
If the light stays on, turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF. If the light comes on while driving, stop as soon as possible in a safe location and turn the ignition off.
Start the engine again to reset the system. If the light stays on, or if it comes on again while driving, the Buick Enclave needs service. If the regular brake system warning light is not on, the vehicle still has normal braking ability, but the antilock brake function may not be available.
If the regular brake system warning light is also on, the vehicle may have both an ABS concern and a regular brake system problem. See Brake System Warning Light for additional information.
Tow/Haul Mode Light

This light comes on when Tow/Haul mode has been activated.
Tow/Haul mode changes certain vehicle operating characteristics to better support towing or carrying heavier loads. For more information, see Tow/Haul Mode.
