Service Vehicle Messages

SERVICE A/C (Air Conditioning) SYSTEM

This message appears when the electronic sensors that control the heating and air conditioning systems are no longer operating correctly.

Have the climate control system serviced by your dealer if you notice reduced heating performance, weak cooling, inconsistent temperature control, or a general drop in HVAC efficiency.

SERVICE POWER STEERING

This message appears when a problem is detected with the power steering system. When this message is displayed, steering effort may increase and the steering wheel may feel heavier than normal, although the vehicle can still be steered.

Have the Buick Enclave serviced by your dealer immediately to help prevent the condition from becoming more difficult to manage.

SERVICE VEHICLE SOON

This message appears when a non-emissions-related malfunction has been detected. Have the vehicle inspected and serviced by your dealer as soon as possible.

STARTING DISABLED SERVICE THROTTLE

This message appears when the throttle system is not functioning properly and vehicle starting may be disabled.

Have the Buick Enclave serviced by your dealer before attempting continued operation.

Tire Messages

TIRE LOW ADD AIR TO TIRE

On vehicles equipped with the Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS), this message appears when the system detects that one or more tires have low air pressure.

The message also identifies the affected tire location by displaying LEFT FRT for left front, RIGHT FRT for right front, LEFT RR for left rear, or RIGHT RR for right rear.

The low tire pressure warning light will also illuminate. See Tire Pressure Light.

If a tire pressure message appears on the DIC, stop as soon as it is safe to do so and check the tire pressure. Inflate the tire or tires by adding air until the pressure matches the values shown on the Tire and Loading Information label. See Tires, Vehicle Load Limits, and Tire Pressure.

The Buick Enclave may display more than one tire pressure message at the same time if more than one tire is underinflated.

To read additional messages that may have been sent at the same time, press the set/reset button or the trip odometer reset stem.

The DIC can also show individual tire pressure values. See Driver Information Center (DIC).

SERVICE TIRE MONITOR SYSTEM

On vehicles equipped with TPMS, this message appears when part of the Tire Pressure Monitor System is not operating correctly.

The tire pressure light may also flash and then remain on during the same ignition cycle. See Tire Pressure Light.

Several different conditions can cause this message to appear, including a sensor issue, a missing sensor signal, or a system condition that prevents the TPMS from reading tire pressure normally. See Tire Pressure Monitor Operation for more information.

If the warning comes on and stays on, there may be a problem with the TPMS. See your dealer for diagnosis and service.

TIRE LEARNING ACTIVE

This message appears when the Tire Pressure Monitor System is relearning the tire positions on the vehicle.

The tire positions must be relearned after tire rotation, tire replacement, or replacement of a tire pressure sensor. This allows the system to correctly match each sensor to its new wheel position. See Tire Rotation, Tire Pressure Monitor System, and Tire Pressure for more information.

Transmission Messages

ALL WHEEL DRIVE OFF

If the vehicle is equipped with the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, this message appears when the AWD system has been disabled because of a compact spare tire, an Antilock Brake System (ABS) warning light, or overheated rear differential fluid.

This message turns off after the differential fluid cools to a safe operating temperature.

The AWD system remains disabled until the compact spare tire is replaced with a full-size tire. If the warning message remains on after the full-size tire has been installed, reset the warning by turning the ignition off and then turning it back on after 30 seconds. If the message stays on, see your dealer right away.

See All-Wheel Drive for more information.

SERVICE ALL WHEEL DRIVE

If the Buick Enclave is equipped with the All-Wheel Drive system, this message appears when a problem has been detected in the AWD system.

If this message appears, stop as soon as it is safe to do so and turn off the vehicle. Restart the vehicle after 30 seconds and check the DIC display again.

If the message remains displayed or appears again when driving begins, the AWD system needs service. See your dealer.

SERVICE TRANSMISSION

This message appears when a problem has been detected with the transmission.

Transmission concerns should be inspected promptly, because delayed service may affect shifting quality, drivability, or long-term component life. See your dealer for service.

TRANSMISSION HOT IDLE ENGINE

Notice: Driving while the transmission fluid is overheating and the transmission temperature warning is displayed on the instrument panel cluster and/or DIC can damage the transmission. This may lead to costly repairs that would not be covered by the warranty. Do not continue driving with overheated transmission fluid or while the transmission temperature warning is displayed.

This message appears and a chime sounds when the transmission fluid temperature becomes too high. Operating the vehicle with overheated transmission fluid can cause serious transmission damage.

Stop the Buick Enclave in a safe location and allow the engine to idle so the transmission can cool.

This message clears when the transmission fluid temperature returns to a safe level.
