Buick Enclave: Roof Rack System
WARNING
If an item carried on top of the vehicle is longer or wider than the roof rack, such as paneling, plywood, or a mattress, wind can catch it while the vehicle is moving. The item could be torn off with force, which may cause a collision, damage the vehicle, or create danger for others. Never carry anything longer or wider than the roof rack on top of the vehicle unless a GM certified accessory carrier is used.
For vehicles equipped with a roof rack, the rack may be used to carry properly secured items.
If the roof rack does not include crossrails, GM Certified crossrails can be purchased as an accessory. See your dealer for additional information about compatible roof rack equipment for the Buick Enclave.
Notice: Loading cargo on the roof rack that weighs more than 91 kg (200 lbs), or cargo that hangs over the rear or sides of the vehicle, may damage the vehicle. Load cargo so it rests evenly between the crossrails, and make sure all cargo is fastened securely.
To help prevent damage or cargo loss while driving, check that the crossrails and cargo are securely fastened before starting the trip. Loading cargo on the roof rack raises the vehicle’s center of gravity. Avoid high speeds, sudden starts, sharp turns, hard braking, and abrupt maneuvers, as these actions may increase the risk of loss of control.
During long-distance driving, rough-road travel, or highway-speed driving, stop occasionally in a safe place to confirm that the cargo remains secure and correctly positioned. Do not exceed the maximum vehicle capacity when loading the Buick Enclave.
For more information about vehicle capacity and loading, see Vehicle Load Limits.
