Buick Enclave: License Plate Lamp. Replacement Bulbs
License Plate Lamp
The license plate lamps illuminate the rear plate so it remains visible in low-light conditions. If one of these bulbs is burned out, dim, or intermittent, it should be replaced with the correct bulb type.
To replace one of these bulbs:
1. Remove the two screws holding each of the license plate lamps to the liftgate trim.

2. Turn and pull the license plate lamp forward through the liftgate trim opening.
3. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise and pull the bulb straight out of the socket.
4. Install the new bulb. Avoid forcing the bulb, and make sure it sits securely in the socket.
5. Reverse Steps 1 through 3 to reinstall the license plate lamp.
After installation, turn on the exterior lamps and check that the license plate lamp operates properly. Also confirm that the lamp housing is seated correctly in the liftgate trim so it does not loosen or allow moisture to enter.
Replacement Bulbs

For replacement bulbs not listed here, contact your dealer.
Using the proper replacement bulb helps maintain the correct brightness, color, electrical load, and fit inside the lamp housing. A bulb that does not match the intended specification may create poor illumination, warning issues, overheating, loose fitment, or premature failure.
If a bulb fails repeatedly, the issue may not be the bulb itself. The socket, wiring, ground connection, lamp seal, or moisture inside the housing may need to be inspected. Replacing the bulb without correcting the cause can lead to another failure.
