Buick Enclave: Auxiliary Devices
The Buick Enclave may be equipped with a 3.5 mm (1/8 in) auxiliary input jack located on the lower right side of the radio faceplate. On vehicles equipped with a USB port, the USB connector is located in the instrument panel storage area.
Using the 3.5mm (1/8 in) Auxiliary Input Jack
The auxiliary input jack is located on the lower right side of the faceplate.
This jack is an audio input only. It is not an audio output, so a headphone set should not be plugged into the front auxiliary input jack. Connect an external audio device, such as an iPod, laptop computer, MP3 player, portable CD player, or cassette tape player, to use it as an additional listening source through the vehicle audio system.
Drivers are encouraged to connect and set up any auxiliary device while the vehicle is in P (Park). This helps reduce distraction and allows the device to be ready before driving.
See Defensive Driving for more information on driver distraction.
To use an auxiliary input device, connect a 3.5 mm (1/8 in) cable to the radio's front auxiliary input jack.
(Power/Volume): Turn this control clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the volume level heard through the vehicle speakers. If the sound from the portable player is still too quiet or too loud, additional volume adjustment may be needed directly on the connected device.
BAND: Press this button to listen to the radio while a portable audio device is still playing. The portable device continues playback, so it may need to be stopped, paused, or turned off separately.
CD/AUX (CD/Auxiliary): Press this button to switch between CD playback and the Auxiliary input source.
► When a CD is in the player, the CD icon appears with a message showing the disc and/or track number.
► If an auxiliary input device is not connected, “No Input Device Found” appears on the display.
DVD/CD/AUX (Auxiliary): Press this button to switch between DVD, CD, or Auxiliary input, depending on the equipment and sources available in the Buick Enclave.
► If an auxiliary input device is not connected, “No Aux Input Device” appears on the display.
► When a disc is loaded in either slot, the DVD/CD text tab appears with a message showing the track or chapter number.
► If an auxiliary input device is not connected and discs are loaded in both the DVD slot and CD slot, the DVD/CD/AUX button cycles only between those two disc sources and does not display “No Aux Input Device.” If a front auxiliary input device is connected, the DVD/CD/AUX button cycles through all available source options.
If a disc is inserted into the upper DVD slot, the rear seat operator can turn on the video screen and use the remote control to navigate CD tracks only through the remote control.
See Clock or “Audio/ Video (A/V) Jacks” under Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) System for more information.
Using the USB Port
For vehicles equipped with a USB port, the connector is located in the instrument panel storage area.
See Instrument Panel Storage for more information.
Radios with a USB port can control a compatible USB storage device or iPod using the radio buttons, knobs, and display. This allows supported music files and playlists to be managed from the Buick Enclave radio interface.
See MP3 (Radio with CD/USB) or MP3 (Radio with CD/ DVD) for information about connecting and controlling a USB storage device or iPod.
