Entry Lighting

For vehicles equipped with courtesy lamps, the lamps come on and remain on for a set period whenever Buick Enclave Remote Keyless Entry unlock button used to activate entry lighting is pressed on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.

If a door is opened, the lamps stay on while the door remains open and then turn off automatically about 20 seconds after the door is closed. If Remote Keyless Entry lock button that turns the entry lamps off after about 20 seconds is pressed and no door is opened, the lamps turn off after about 20 seconds.

Entry lighting helps make the Buick Enclave easier to approach and enter in dark areas by briefly illuminating the interior after the vehicle is unlocked.

Entry lighting includes a feature called theater dimming. With theater dimming, the lamps do not shut off suddenly at the end of the delay period.

Instead, the lamps slowly dim and then go out. The delay period is canceled if the ignition key is turned to ON/RUN or if the power door lock switch is pressed. When this happens, the lamps begin dimming immediately.

When the ignition is on, illuminated entry is inactive. This means the courtesy lamps will not come on unless a door is opened.

Delayed Entry Lighting

Delayed entry lighting keeps the interior illuminated for a short period after all doors have been closed.

The ignition must be off for delayed entry lighting to operate. Immediately after all doors have been closed, the delayed entry lighting feature continues until one of the following occurs:

► The ignition is turned to ON/RUN.

► The doors are locked.

► An illumination period of about 25 seconds has elapsed.

If a door is opened during the illumination period, the timed lighting period is canceled and the interior lamps remain on.

Delayed Exit Lighting

Delayed exit lighting illuminates the interior for a short period after the key is removed from the ignition.

The ignition must be off for delayed exit lighting to operate. When the key is removed, the interior lamps come on and remain illuminated until one of the following occurs:

► The ignition is turned to ON/RUN.

► The power door locks are activated.

► An illumination period of approximately 20 seconds has elapsed.

If a door is opened during the illumination period, the timed lighting cycle is canceled and the interior lamps remain on because a door is open.

This feature helps provide convenient interior visibility when leaving the Buick Enclave in low-light conditions.
