Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)/Automatic Headlamp System
Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) help make the front of the Buick Enclave more visible to other drivers during daylight driving.
Fully functional daytime running lamps are required on all vehicles first sold in Canada.
The DRL system turns the low-beam headlamps on at reduced brightness when the following conditions are met:
► The ignition is in the ON/RUN position.
► The exterior lamp control is in AUTO.
► The engine is running.
When the DRL are on, the regular headlamps, taillamps, sidemarker lamps, and other exterior lamps will not be on.
The instrument panel and cluster lighting will also not be illuminated during DRL operation.
The headlamps automatically change from DRL to the regular headlamp system when the surrounding area becomes dark enough.
When the regular headlamps turn on, the other lamps that operate with the headlamps will also turn on.
When it becomes bright enough outside, the regular headlamps turn off and the DRL come back on.
The regular headlamp system should still be turned on manually whenever driving conditions require additional lighting.
Do not cover the light sensor on top of the instrument panel, because this sensor works with the DRL and automatic headlamp system.
Delayed Headlamps
Delayed headlamps provide a period of exterior lighting after the driver leaves the area around the vehicle.
This feature is activated when the headlamps are on because of the automatic headlamp control feature and the ignition is turned off. The headlamps remain on until the exterior lamp control is moved to the parking lamps position or until the preselected delayed headlamp period has ended.
If the ignition is turned off while the exterior lamp control is in the parking lamps or headlamps position, the delayed headlamp cycle will not occur.

Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL)
Vehicles equipped with the Adaptive Forward Lighting System (AFL) have headlamps that can swivel left or right during turns to provide improved lighting in the direction of travel.
To enable AFL in the Buick Enclave, set the exterior lamp switch to the AUTO position. Move the switch out of AUTO to turn the system off. See Exterior Lamp Controls.
AFL operates when vehicle speed is greater than 3 km/h (2 mph). AFL does not operate when the transmission is in R (Reverse).
The AFL system is not immediately available after the vehicle is started. A short driving distance is required so the system can complete its calibration before normal AFL operation begins.
